A cold wind at the back of my neck.
The scrape of sand on my bare knees.
I could not open my swollen eyes to see where I was.
The pain was unbearable;
it felt like all my bones had been crushed and all my muscles had been torn.
I did not know how long I was going to live.
I lay there trying to remember what had occurred but my thoughts were nothing but a blur.
My thoughts were interrupted when I heard the screeching sound of vultures seemingly above.
I pictured a dozen vultures circling patiently above,
waiting for my death.
I could smell the foul odor of the hyenas equally hungry as the vultures.
I tried to get up before they came
